I need some help diagnosing a cooktop burner that won't heat up. I have a Kitchen Aid KESA907PSS Range that now has a front left dual burner that won't heat up. The indicator on the switch is on but the burner won't heat. A few days ago after dinner I started smelling something that wafted a bit like ozone or burnt electronics in the kitchen. I noticed that the switch for the burner now in question was just not quite turned off - more like hovering right next to the off position so the switch light was flickering on and off. I turned it off hoping that was that but I guess something was damaged because of this. The burner does not heat no matter what direction the switch is turned on (singe or dual burner). Any ideas on where to start looking?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

I was finally able to diagnose this problem down to the switch. I had to buy the following part to fix:

Part Number: AP3890511
Manufacturer's Number: 9763760 made by WHIRLPOOL

Hope this helps,

Tim
