I have an 8 yr old GE XL44 gas range, model RGB526PEA1WH. It is currently set to operate on Natural Gas. My plan is to convert it to LP (an easy changeover that I know how to do), and put it in use at my camp. The question I have regards the oven ignition system. It uses a an electronic ignition hot surface ignitor that I beleive also serves as a flame sensor, since I am unable to light the oven during power outages even with a match or butane lighter. My camp is a primitive camp, and does not have electricity. Does anyone know how to bypass or adapt this stove to suit my purposes? If not, I guess I'm going to have to try to find an old standing pilot unit for camp.

I guess you could get rid of the safety valve and find a way to hook it up to your tank, not sure how, but that is what you would need to do. Also you will need a pressure valve at the lp tank as well as at the range or you will blow the valve on the range. You can pick these up at a camping store I believe
