The ice-maker appear to now have two leaks on the underside and towards the front - one on each side (left and right).
The leaks show themselves as icicles hanging down from the underside of the ice maker. They "grow" downwards into the ice cube collection container and result in freezing a bunch of the ice cubes together.
Originally (for the last few weeks) there was only one; today there are two of these icicles.
The refrigerator is about 10 years old, plus or minus a few months.
Is this something that can be repaired or is it just easier to replace the ice maker?

The new ice maker will cost you less money than parts to fix the old ice maker. You have to use the wire harness, shut off arm and front (head) cover from the old ice maker. - The ice maker Part number: AP4360346

It sounds reasonably simple to do - like it should take no more than an hour? Am I right about that?
Thanks, Gene -

The icemaker has arrived. Are there step by step instructions on how to replace the one tht is in there or to simply install the new one somewhere on the internet, or is it intuitively obvious: 1. Empty freezer 2. Disconnect power 3. Disconnect water line to ice maker 4. Unscrew currently installed ice maker. 5. Unplug ice maker electrical conenctions 6. Install new ice maker by reversing the above steps
Hope someone responds
Thanks.
Michael

Michael,
All steps you posted are absolutely right + you have to remove the head cover, the wire harness and shut off arm from the old ice maker and install them on the new one.

gene, you did not say whether all the food should be removed from the freezer during repair, since it only takes a short time to do, is this necessary? thanks.

You have to remove everything what is blocking the access.
