I have a problem with my GE Fridge/Freezer with the ice-maker and water dispenser in the freezer-size door. Ice is dispensed without any problem, but not the water. This problem has been intermittent for a couple of years, but it's getting worse and worse now. When you push on the water selector button the green LED above it lights, and the switch where the cup goes obviously works because it pushes out ice, so where do I go from here please? I couldn't even work out how to take this thing apart! I have however, replaced the water valve assembly at the back, and tested that there is a current going to the valves when the switches at the front are activated. Surely that only leaves the clear plastic pipe itself, but since that disappears inside the unit I have no idea how to do anything further. Any suggestions please?

Thanks, I opened the door, took a hair-dryer to it for a couple of minutes and it started working again. I've turned the freezer thermostat down from 5 to 3, hopefully the food will stay frozen and the door won't! If not though, I'll consider the heater, but at $40 I'm hoping it won't be necessary. Odd that it should work fine for about 5 years and then start freezing up though, I guess the insulation starts to break down over time? Or is it that there already is a line heater inside the door and it's stopped working? In any case, I'm not sure how I'd get to it (without buying the part and reading the instructions), so for now I'll live with this fix and see how bad it gets. Thanks again for your help!
