My Maytag model number MDET446AYW. Following a storm, the electrical company had difficulty keeping on the power. consequently my dryer must have reacted to the power outage. All the lights on the fabric selector are on and the dryer will not start. However, when I unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet and then plug it in again, the lights work properly for twenty seconds. The dryer will run and dry the cloths. However, I have to continuely unplug and plug it in again every time I use it. What is causing this problem?

When my husband rotated the bearing assembly it squealed like the sound we were hearing. We ordered the Bearing assembly and even a new idler arm with assembly shaft with all the associated washers. Hopefully this will take care of the squeal...we will keep you updated! I took TONS of pictures. Of course while I was off researching the bearing assembly (for one second)...my husband got the belt off the tumbler and pulley. So of course the one thing we needed a picture of I missed. We didn't get a picture of the way the belt wrapped around the pulley. Your site help tremendously with this near catastrophy. I wanted to post a HUGE thank you for the diagram posting of how the belts wrap around the pulleys ... that was a life saver for us.
