My Amana SXD23VE makes ice fine but does not provide water at the door.
I have replaced the primary solenoid and the bypass assembly.
After reinstalling the filter I get one or two glasses of water and it quits. Pressure builds up behind the filter and you really have to hang on to it when uninstalling or it will jet out of your hand. If I pull the filter out, empty and re-install I get the same results. Same goes for the bypass, including the back pressure. I can do this over and over again with the bypass or the filter installed and still get the same results….1-2 glasses then it quits and builds pressure.
I can hear the solenoid actuating and it works for the first couple of glasses so I can not believe it’s a plugged line or the secondary solenoid. As I stated earlier the ice maker is fine.
So given what I’ve replaced and the issue at hand, what’s next?
This has been an ongoing problem for about a year or so. My wife and I specifically bought this frig for the water and ice in the door and we’ve had it. It’s only 50% operational.
If we can not get this fixed we will go out and buy another frig and it won’t be Amana/Maytag/Whirlpool or whatever they are calling themselves these days.
It also won’t be purchased at the local ma and pa shop. Their $75 diagnosis was the bypass assembly which obviously was incorrect. They also can't provide me with a time they will show up to look at it. They think they are the cable company....we'll be there Tuesday sometime...My reply was I'll let you know if that's necessary.

My Maytag MSD2650HEW does exactly the same thing. I've replaced the filter and the solenoid. If I turn off the water valve before the fridge, then turn it back on, it will work for a few glasses, then does exactly what yours is doing. Help anyone?
