Well hello there I hope you are having a great day, evenin, mornin, whatever fits. I thank you for sharing some of your know-how with me.

I have a fridge w/bottom freezer unit that got a bit stinky after an electrical interruption. Okay it was my fault I admit it. (I may learn this lesson):)

So in my attempt to rid the freezer of every bit of sediment that caused the odoriferous bouquet that greeted me that evenin I unscrewed the brackets holding the drain tube and it fell snapping the (what I will refer to as) the "funnel neck" off, in several pieces. There is an intact end of the funnel neck still in the swegded(sic) top end of the drain tube.

Feeling with my little finger in the hole left behind, in the wall above the compressor, I can tell you there is very little of the funnel neck left (maybe this thing steps up in sections like a funnel I don't know) passing thru the bottom wall of the cabinet. It seems I can feel the transition edge.

I am not sure if this neck is part of the tray that gathers the drippings off of the evaporator coils during the defrost period and deposits the said drippings into the drain tube and drip tray under the cabinet or if the neck is actually a part of a funnel type connection that is set in the tray like the catch-basin at the bottom of my sink that holds the strainer-basket.

If there is a replacement part available that would be terrific. Could you tell me where to find the replacement part.

IF I have confused the issue my apologies I might have gotten carried away with my description but if I had the right vocabulary I could 'splain it better Lucy.:o

I would also appreciate any PDF parts lists, diagrams, schematics and/or instruction manuals pertaining to my unit. If you have them that would be great.

If I had a good picture I could proly point out the culprit. Unfortunately the ones on your website got me confused since I ain't never been inside the guts of a fridge b4 and this may not be the last its been rewarding but very aggravating. I hate breakin stuff but seem to do it. My Fridge is the Amana Model # BX22S5W / Manufacturer # P1196708WW

Thanks for your help and if you need more precise explanation I will try to answer any questions . I want you to have an outstanding day. Thanks, D

Partner first I wanna thank you for helping me through this journey. I never thought about the insides of my fridge before except when I was a kid and a boy in my 2nd grade class didn't come to school one Monday and the nun told us he had been playin hide and seek but the other kids couldn't find him and then his parents found him and you know the rest of the story. This was in the late 50s.

Do you have a instruction sheet for taking the evap coil off the back wall and gettin the tray out from under it? If so that would be invaluable.

I am skeared that I will mess up the freon lines to and from the evap coil thru the back of freezer to the compressor. I am only afraid of breaking something else while trying to save money.

Gene, will I be able to replace the funnel that feeds the defrost water thru the bottom wall to the drain tube and into the tray under the freezer. The funnel is on order, is this a job that needs to be handled by a certified repair person.

I understand this is a question not really answerable since you know me not, but I wonder if this is too big and complicated for a newbie. with only the few drawing showing parts. I had all the screws and rest of the stuff in bags and labeled for easy replacement.
