We cannot get solid ice out of the ice maker. When we open the freezer, it looks like the ice melted and then re-froze into a solid block. Also, frost accumulates on everything in the freezer. We've noticed that the freezer appears to just turn off intermittently, causing the frost that has accumulated to melt along with the ice. Then the freezer will turn back on and we are stuck with blocks of frozen ice and frost everywhere again.
When this happens, the ice maker will only produce crushed ice. I can't remember the last time the auto-ice dispenser produced full ice cubes! Also, it might be important to note that I replaced the motherboard about 6 months ago because the unit was making a terrible howling noise. The new board did resolve that issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as we desperately miss our whole ice cubes.

Sounds like the main control board on the back of the refrigerator is the culprit. - The main control board Part number: AP4436216

Hi Gene, thanks for the reply. I actually replaced the control board with a brand new one about 6 months ago because the unit was making a terrible howling noise.
Could anything else be causing the problem?

Could anything else be causing the problem? Yes, I've seen it in your previous post. This is the first possible failure suspect, especially due to the dispenser problems. Gene.
