My soap dispenser door will not pop open once the latch releases during the cycle. I have replaced the spring (which didn't appear to be broken or bent) and now Whirlpool is suggestiong I replace the Lid Assembly (door) and the Lid Hinge Pin. However, they provide no instructions as to how to do so and which way the spring should be installed. I am looking for installation instructions and possibly some other ideas as to what may be wrong.

If the soap dispenser door pops open once the latch releases while the dishwasher door is open than you do not have to replace anything. This door should be open only half way during a cycle to release soap.
If it does not pop open while the dishwasher door is open than you have to replace the lid assembly. Unfortunately there is no any diagrams or installation instructions available for this part.
