My in door dispenser is giving both crushed and cubed ice, but no water.

I replaced the 2 valve part but no change, I have checked for plugged filter, kinks but nothing wrong. I am now thinking the display panel, but when I push the button I here the valve working, but when I push the lever, nothing. I know there is switch there, but more than one. Suggestions please before I order the display.

The most common thing that will cause this is that the line inside the door is frozen. To check this, remove the coupling at the bottom under the door then attempt to dispense water if water comes through the line the line is frozen inside the door. To fix this hook the line back up then open the door and press the door switch. Then press the lever to dispense water repeatedly until water comes. GE makes a heater that will prevent this from happening again the part number is WR49X10173. hope this helps!! GE Refrigerators Repair Guide

Thanks for your response. I read that and did try it, no water from the inlet side, but left the door open anyway for 1/2 hr but no change. I see there is only one active switch that opens the shute. What are the chances that the board is not working correctly to tell the valve what to do?

Thanks
Roger

You said that you hear the valve working when you press the lever so I am assuming the valve is receiving voltage when you press the lever. Are you sure of this? Do you have good water pressure? The line can be frozen inside the fresh food section as well. Behind the vegetable drawer you should see the line it could be frozen there.
