Ignition is undependable. Usually, we light the burners with a match. Sometimes, we see sparks next to the igniters and hear clicks and the burners will ignite. One burner continuously "clicks" when in use. Drying off/out the burners does not restore ignition or stop the clicking. Do we need a new spark module or is can failure of the igniter on one burner prevent ignition of the others?

Quote:One burner continuously "clicks" when in use. That could just be caused by a 'dirty' spark electrode at the burner or even its insulator cracked allowing the spark to spark to other than the burner. Try watching it in the dark to see if you can determine where it is sparking to. Quote:Do we need a new spark module That is impossible to say without a more specific description of the problem symptoms. Quote:is can failure of the igniter on one burner prevent ignition of the others? A single burner's malfunction should not usually affect any other burner, no. Thank you Dan for your analysis and diagnostic questions. About 95% of the one hears and smells the gas flow, but there is no clicking or sparking. The failure of all the burners to spark most of the time suggests a central malfunction. The 5% of the time when the igniters spark, they light the burners. I'll observe the igniter on the burner the continuously clicks when lit (in synchrony with the sparking igniters on the burners not in use) next time I get a spark.
