Washer will fill and drain, timer advances, can hear motor, but won't spin or agitate. Was making a rattley/squealy sound the other night before the agitator/spin stopped working. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide!

Sounds like the motor coupling is bad. This link will show you how to access the coupling Whirlpool Washer Disassembly Guide

Thanks. I replaced this earlier today. Made it through half of a load and burned up another copuling. Does this indicate a problem with the motor or tranny?

This may indicate that the brakes are dragging. There is a good sticky post on this.
