Just bought the washer that was supposed to work..

Anyway now I'm stuck with it and it seems to do everything but not spin. So, I pulled the top, front cabinet, agitator, tub etc. I can plug it in and see the clutch drum spinning but the tub shaft doesn't move. Then I notice the brake shoes are missing? Everything else seems to work but if the brake shoes are missing would that prevent the tub from spinning?

Well, installed new brake shoes and hardware. Tub started spinning then stopped. Seems as though the clutch is slipping. I tried a washer but the clutch won't grip enough to spin tub. Guess I'll order the clutch kit.
