I am replacing the High-Limit Thermostat and the Thermal Cutoff and found a discription that tells me the Red & Black wires attach to the thermal cutoff and the Red-White & Black wires attach to the high-limit thermostat. But does it matter if the black attaches to the top or bottom of each (Thermal Cutoff and Thermostat). Can't seem to find a wiring diagram. Can anyone provide assistance?

Thanks very much!

These two thermostats simply connect the two wires together until the thermostat overheats then they disconnect the two wires. So as long as you have the right two wires on the thermostat it doesn’t matter which terminal they connect to.
