I am trying to check thermistors on this GE. Technical service guide says to enter self diagnostics mode, press all 4 temp adjustemnt buttons at same time for 3 seconds. Once single digit display starts flashing enter the test code I am trying to test. Once the test code has been entered the display will flash to confirm the test. Then you press the HOLD button for 3 seconds and the test begins.

One problem...there is no "HOLD" buttom to press.

Any G.E. techs out there?

Thanks in advance

For some controls (ones without a hold button) you have to press any button that is not a temperature control button to begin the test. If your control only has temperature control buttons I don’t think you can use the self-diagnostic test you will have to manually check them.

Yes I only have temp up down buttons. But the display allows me to enter a test mode, which it does just fine. The service manual doesn't mention not having a HOLD button. In fact the picture shown in the manual doesn't include a HOLD button. Still confused

You cannot use the self-diagnostic test unless your control has at least 5 buttons (four temperature control buttons and at least one more).
