My ice maker quit making ice and my showed that it was time to replace the filter. I replaced the filter and it still does not deliver water to the water tray. I can not hear the watwer pump come on. The ice maker goes thru the motions as if it were dumping ice but the water pump never comes on. Is it possible that I need a new pump?

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze and block the tube. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow.

Thanks again Woodchuckie. It turned out after all the things I tried it was the tip of my water spout in the freezer. The rubber tip was frozen and after I broke the ice out it started working.
