I have a tappan self cleaning oven which overheats. No error codes flash, and the digital temp control reads what should be the correct temperature. From time to time it will shut off when on bake cycle. Model number is 30-4982-23/02.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

...but not the temperature the oven is actually at??

If the control is displaying an incorrect temperature there is likely a problem in either the oven temperature sensor or the electronic control itself.

Yes. It burned garlic bread in 3 mins while displaying the proper cooking temperature and a cake in under 10 mins while displaying what should have been the proper temperature. Thanks, I will look into it and see if I can find someone to test the temp sensor and go from there.
