I have a Kitchenaid Dishwasher and the latch broke. My husband fiddled around with it so we could open it. The control panel then stopped working. We replaced the latch and the control panel does not work. He checked the continuity and power is going in to the control board (part #8530929) and he checked the thermal fuse and that worked fine but when he attached the control panel to the control board no lights work. How do we know if it is the Control Board (part #8530929) or the Control Panel (part #9744112)? Thanks in advance.

I just read over my post. Just to clarify, is there a way to verify if the circuit (control board) is working. Is there a way to check if it is defective?

Did you get a solution to your problem? I am having the same problem. Thanks.

I did get a solution: My husband took off the front panel and found that one of the chips from the control panel fell off when we fiddled with getting the handle out. He added the chip back on and the dishwasher worked again.
Hope this helps.
