I came home to find water on the floor. The ice in the drawer was melting. Everything in the freezer was thawed. The refrigerator seems cold, but maybe not as cold as usual. I don't have a temp probe. I took the bottom grill cover off and the cardboard back and found the black coils covered with lint and dirt. I vacuumed and cleaned the coils but the freezer is still not freezer. The fan under the unit runs, and the fan inside the freezer is running, too. Occasionally I hear a click sound which I think is the compressor turning on. I am very handy repairing most anything, but this is new territory for me. I have multi-meters and just about every tool you could think of (with the exception of a temp. probe). If I can buy a part and tool(s) for less than or equal to repair service cost, I prefer to do the work myself. It's a great learning experience and I have an excuse for the wife for buying more tools. ;) The model number is ED25TEXHW02, Ser. #SL0848061. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tested the starter relay unit and bought a replacement (universal) from a local appliance repairman for $25. The tricky part was figuring out which pin on the compressor was start, run, and common. Once I got the new relay installed, the freezer and refrigerator started working fine. Thanks for the tips and info!
