Ok, now the dishwasher fills and sounds like it wants to go into wash cycle but doesn't do anything but hum. It will drain if you move it to that cycle. I checked all of the sprayer arms and they aren't clogged so I think it must be a timer switch?? Isn't this expensive and most just get a new unit??

yes I did, thanks. If it starts and hot water fills but then it just sits there humming could it be motor start relay or cycle switch because it will just sit there and hum until you push the selector to drain and it drains.

The start or the run winding is open 2. The start capacitor is shot 3. The motor is jammed but I believe you have already checked this 4. Could be the motor is actually running but the impeller is loose on the motor's shaft. |
