The door to my relatively new Ge dishwasher does not open completely. There is a black plastic plate below the door which prevents the door from opening. I loosened the plate and moved it down to meet the floor but that did not solve the problem. The door does not extend as far as it should so that the bottom rack, when pulled out, is tilted and it is impossible to load dishes. The only solution that I can see is to remove the plastic plate, but that will certainly not look good.

When you took off the black plate was there a white one behind it, if so I am willing to bet the white sound upgrade kit did not get installed correctly. Let me know if the white plastic is there behing the black plate.

I did not see a reply to ABadFish' question. I ran into the same issue just yesterday. The plumber installed the sound upgrade in my new GE Profile dishwasher incorrectly. In fact there were no screws holding the white sound upgrade panel in place. He did screw the kick panel to the sound panel. I took both loose and tried to reinstall the sound upgrade panel, but was having a difficult time getting it to fit in place easily. It was difficult getting it to move up to fit in the slots as shown in the installation instructions. Is there any secret here that I'm missing?
Thanks! G2
