Happy to be reporting back in and my refrigerator has been repaired. The repairman came yesterday afternoon and it did not take long. He replaced a plastic broken piece with a new metal part. Thanks!!!!!

glad to hear all worked out well.. sometimes it is just better to let a pro do it ...( did W/P p/u the tab for anything ? )

I had to pay for the service call and whirlpool is paying for the replacement part.
