GE SpaceMaker II m/w used to cook on long cycles - two baked potatoes for 16 minutes. Recently it seems like the m/w STOPS after 4-5 minutes cooking. Last week it stopped while cooking popcorn - the second bag in a row.

All lights are out on the unit, no respinse on buttons, no beeps. After ~ ten (10) minutes, the unit starts working again.

Sounds like the cooling fan is not working properly, causing the magnetron tube to overheat.

Check if 120V is coming to the fan motor.

If there is 120V, then replace the the fan motor.

If there is no 120V, then replace the control board.

- The part number for the cooling fan motor AP2024951

- The part number for the control board is AP2025997

Good luck.
Gene.
