I've read several of the threads on the GE Profile and its ice maker issues. The green light is on and I've tried cycling the horrizontal arm as suggested. The ice mode has ice in it. The frig is 3 years old.
I open the freezer and there's 6 cubes in the drawer that have been dumped by the ice maker but that's all. If I pull the horrizontal arm out toward the door, then I'll get 6 more cubes but something is causing the horrizontal arm to move away from the door and therefore shutting down the ice maker. It appears after the ice is dumped the arm goes back in away from the door.
I don't fully understand what makes the horrizontal arm move in and out as I've never paid much attention to it before.

The spring on that feeler arm is broken or out of place. I have never seen one broken but I have seen a few out of place. On this page there is a picture of the spring I am talking about. GE Icemaker Repair Guide
