My dryer has just flashing lights. we ran the test sequences listed in the form we found under the dryer faceplate, and all seemed to work. heater, drum, cycles, even showed correctly heat temp information with flashing lights. But when we run the test to find out what is wrong, we get error code which looks like 9E and there is no 9E listed on the dryer test spec sheet. Can you tell us what is wrong and where to find the list of error codes not listed on the sheet?

Hi

Your model number is coming up with a Frigidaire model from Lowes.

Here is what Frigidaire says is the parts manual

http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...f/Webster/5995429841.pdf

Can you confirm the brand and model number.

Thanks

The model is LEQ1442ES0. Marketed by lowes as electrolux but also seems to be frigidaire same model number.
The link to the manual you sent doesn't appear to address error codes.
the sheet that comes with it and the online manual also do not list code 9E. Thanks for any information you can give me.

Thanks for confirming the model number. You had listed the model as a Whirlpool/Kenmore which confused me. Frigidaire is built by Electrolux.

Are you getting a display reading 9E or are you getting flashing lights and interpreting them as 9E? If you are getting 9E in your display I think your display is a problem. If you are getting flashing lights the error code is E, followed by the number of flashing lights in the status light and a second digit is the number of flashing lights in the start light.

See if this explanation helps, and see if you can get a better idea of waht is going on.

Good luck and let us know what you do.

It is the flashing lights. 9 times for the first light, and 14 for the second set of lights. we ran the test several times. running through the "test sequence" also and the dryer runs, heater heats, lights flash the temperature appropriately. we also tested the 220 outlet and it is fine. anyway, it is the sort of dryer with no display, so the 9E is done in lights.
thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

It seems your error code is E9 or E914, neither of which is right, and the E914 does not make a whole lot of sense.

I suspect the problem is in your control board, but cannot be certain. The first thing I would do is check the thermistor for resistence, to see if it is open or shorted. If it is ok you will have to decide whether or not to try replacing the control board, which unfortunately is expensive but it is the weak link in the machine and likely the problem, particularly given the unusual error codes it is trying to give you.

Good luck, sorry I could not be more definitive and let us know what you do and how it turns out.
