I think it is the right gasket, at least this site tells me it is, but it is made by Maytag! Anyway I think my door is NOW somehow "off" but how do I get it "on"? I shoulda read first the one about only removing a few screws at a time. but
I read a post about taking it off so I tried that and put it back together, Now it's worse.
PLEASE help. my soymilk is getting warm!

Heat the new gasket in the bathtub to get it smooth and shaped right, then remove door, put it on a flat table, loosen all the screws, and remove gasket. Put the new one on, tighten screws and mount door. Use a hair dryer to smooth it out. Sometimes necessary to duck tape the door shut overnight to get it to seat properly. Also helps to have the fridg leaning back a bit, helps pull in the gasket.

While I was waiting on a reply, I did the hot water thing. put the door on a table.
I am about to try again. when I remounted the first time, it appeared that the door was open at the top handle side while it was shut at the bottom handle side. the hinge side looked good.
the major opening or non-seal was at the top handle side. it looked out of plumb?
any of this sound familiar?

If you have the new gasket on the door already the first thing is to put it back on the fridge.#2 make sure ALL screws are backed off, but not taking them off the door#3tighten only the screws on the hinge side.#4tighten the top and bottom one at a time starting at the hinge side while doing this when you start the bottom and top you can flex the door back and forth shapeing it to the fridge cabinet [you have to shut the door to see where to flex [adjust] the door to the cabinet in which tightening one screw at a time#5 tightening last will be outer handle side .You can use a hair dryer while doing these adjustments Warmingthe gasket to reshape the gasket.

I already finished another way. the confusing part was wondering what I was doing with the hair dryer. I took a small screw driver and manipulated the magnetic side by softly rubbing it in the right direction. am I writing porn here? anyway I did that for about 30 minutes then duct tapped the hell outta it and went for a ride. when I got home some more of that soft rubbing with the blower and it looks all good. it is shutting all the way, when I started it wasn't even pulling shut
thanks for the helpful hints. several people have given several ways to re-attach the gasket screws. center to ends, ends to center.... I thinnk as long as you don't just go in a circle..
