on starting cycle water seems to fill but when wash should be starting there is simply a hmmm as the motor seems like it wants to start..it goes off and tries again in a few seconds...almost sounds like its jammed....tried to see if there was blockage but maybe i am looking at wrong place? I know where the drain impeller is and that is fine and draining works when i cancel. I have removed and checked control module for circuit board burns but didnt see any....this machine gets very little use. all thoughts appreciated.

are you certain that there is no way some clog could be doing this...although 5 years old the machine has probably been used less than once a week....not much wear

Thanks, kawfeeman... that would seem to clinch it....but can i get to the impeller at all from either inside the dishwasher or via the kickpanel....or do i actually have to turn the machine upside down to get to the motor itself to try this out....

Thanks...that was very helpful....the impeller seems jammed though i could find no debris....even with a tool i was barely able to turn it....i happen to have a second machine which works and could check against that one and in the good machine the impeller spins pretty freely.

so does that mean the circ pump or is there something inbetween i can do.

Thanks again....here is something else that might be useful in the future...i've been told that the pumps do tend to seize when not in use...there were long periods of non-use.....and that the seize can be broken (Bosch apparently teaches techs this) by using an 8mm socket on the impeller from inside the dishwash below the screen (where you would normally check for debris). Using the socket on a ratchet, i was able to turn the impeller, but not really loosen it. So looks like the rebuild kit will come in handy. Thanks again.
