Purchased the ignitor/burner kit. Having trouble accessing the two screws that hold the burner at the back of the oven. The opening that exposes the two screws is very small and I cannot get a small 1/4 inch socket and in the area to remove. I tried removing all the screws of the bottom plate but it will not budge. Pulled the warming drawer only to see there is no access to the two screws. There's another plate at the top so the screws are inbetween the two plates. Is there a trick to getting to these two screws. I cannot find my 1/4 inch open end wrench. Is that the only thing that will work?
Looked for a video for my particular model with no luck.
Any tip on how to get to those two screws would be greatly apprciated!

Hi,

**JCB920BEC4BB**

I had trouble getting the above model# to work for me. Please recheck.

**Purchased the ignitor/burner kit.**

The hot surface bake igniter?

**I cannot find my 1/4 inch open end wrench.**

Needed that tool all the time with the GE ranges!!

Hopefully we can learn some more once the model# has been checked.

Oops - sorry - type-o. JGB920BEC4BB
Does the heat shield need to be removed to remove the bake burner? If so how?

**JGB920BEC4BB**

That one works :)

**what I ordered was: GE WB16K10035**

Using your corrected model#, I got Oven Igniter WB13K21 is linked here.

The link also has a video that may help.

The biggest problem we would run into is the 2 screws holding the igniter to the burner were facing down and this left little room to access them. That is where that 1/4 drive rachet wrench helped.

**Does the heat shield need to be removed to remove the bake burner?**

Oven floor and deflector would have to be removed. The deflector should come out when the oven floor is remove.

Please see next post for a link to that video.

Jeff,
Thanks for the response. The ignitor is not my issue but rather the burner.
https://www.appliancepar...b16k10035-ap3205796.html

My issue is getting to the two screws that holds the burner to the wall. There is a very small opening where a 1/4 inch socket will not fit in. I was thinking the heat shield that is underneath may need to be removed which I tried by removing a bunch of screws but it still wouldn't come out. The alterative I was looking for is what to use to access those two screws holding the burner to the wall in the very small space provided. A 1/4 open end wrench is all that I can think of which I have ordered and hope that will do the trick. With my clumbsy hands I'm bound to drop a screw but will give it a shot. Have a couple of backups just in case.

Jeff,
Also note, the deflector you mentioned goes undeneath the oven floor. I am talking about what they call the heat shield that is underneath the burner (or bottom of the oven) #289 on the Body Parts part list

Shot us a picture of the screws you cannot access.
I have no problems getting the 1/4" rachet behind the burner to remove the screws.
