Ice maker on/off light blinking twice continuesly. shutting flap, light still blinks twice, even when on/off turned off still blinks twice. water dispenser works fine. it does need a new filter.

ive seen most with this problem are told its the optical sensor.

You need to replace the ice level optic control kit. Please provide the complete model number of the unit.

Unplug the refrigerator while replacing the control. Simon.

I had this happen 3 days ago. I unplugged the refridgerator for about a minute and plugged it back in. 30 minutes later-ICE! I looked at a few sites that told me different things-replace ice maker, sensor, etc. But thought I would try unplugging it first-sorta reboot. Try this first before replacing anything.

Ice maker not making ice. Light blinking twice. Saw this post from 9 years ago. Unplugged mine for a minute … bingo! It’s making ice. Thank you MRSGUTH!

And I'm just now seeing this thread. My Kitcheanaide fridge is 14 yrs old. Ice maker turned off cause it leaks. And the light is blinking twice. I am avbout to replacethe ice maker, I see this thread and now I need a optic level control kit? No fun.
