The washer is 10 months old and just began making a clicking or creaking sound intermittently when agitating. Does anyone know what this could be and should I have a service call ?

My best guess is the drive mechanism under the tub. Is this machine not still under warranty ?

Yes it is but it has been a hassle trying to get a service call. Maytag says it will be $150 to have them arrange service despite the fact that it is still under warranty but confirmed the parts would be covered.
