Today I was given an older Maytag electric dryer model LDE9304ACE with s/n 168026850H by a customer who said it was making some noise and did not provide air flow like it used to years ago. This is an older model unit but in very nice shape for its age. I removed the front cover and found a very large amount of lint inside so much that I almost filled a grocery bag full . The customer was lucky it did not catch fire. The blower support wheel on the RH side was almost seized up. This is the side above the heat tube. The blower support wheel was removed and switched to the opposite side after cleaning . Also the plastic blower wheel was worn in its bore and spun loosely on the motor shaft. A small metal shim was put into the bore of the wheel so as to make it fit tighter on the motor shaft. The unit was reassembled and tested and worked well. THese older Maytag units are very easy to work on and can be repaired to last many more years/

thanks for the message. did you fix the problem by putting a small metal shim into the bore of the wheel so as to make it fit tighter on the motor shaft? Thanks

Yes.it has to be fairly thin and you may have to make a couple to try them for size
