Have a Samsung Model # DW80R2031US dishwasher built June 2019
Is it normal operation for the unit to run the drying cycle without first draining the water out of the tub. Is that to prevent overheating?
It does not do a very good job drying because it creates a lot of humidity heating the unit with the bottom heating element for over 20 minutes while 3 inches of water remains in the bottom of the unit.
The last thing the "60 minute", "Auto", or "normal" run mode cycle does after the dry cycle is to operate the drain pump for 20 seconds and then light the clean led and make an auditable beep signal.
In case this is not normal operation I will say in advance it drains multiple times during whatever run time operation is chosen and there is no obstruction or partial drain operation. Each time the unit rinses and drains it does so fully and completely. My question is at very end of its operation as it runs the drying cycle by energizing the bottom element, it does so without first draining, and only after completing the dry cycle time does it turn the pump on and drain the unit and immediately signals clean.
