Hi,
Hopefully a easy solution. I have a Maytag Centennial Washer (MVWC400XW3) that is having random issues of not starting up when the start button is depressed. I will follow the procedure of opening the lid, place my cloths in the washer, close the lid, turn the dial to my desired wash, then select start. The washer sensor led will not light up nor do I hear a 'click' from the latch. I would do this several times and get the same issue, but randomly the washer will start as normal. When the washer does start, there is no further issues.
Is this a symptom of the washer lid lock latch switch assembly going out or maybe even the lid strike? Honestly I do not know exactly where the sensor is for the washer to sense that the lid is closed, but I am guessing the washer is not sensing that the lid is closed sometimes.
