This is the problem I had with our Jenn-Air oven. The light wouldn't turn off. Just as described, remove the cooktop and the front panel so that you can access the switch. It will most likely be loose on two small screws, tighten those back in place and reverse the process of the front panel and cook top. We have a slide in range with front controls so your stove may be slightly different. Great post from the ppl who figured this out.

You gotta love the internet!

This solution worked perfectly for me.

Thanks to the original post and those who added additional insight along the way.

Thank You! Fixed in 15 mins!! I thought I would have to go without an oven light (I'm not putting hundreds in for a service call on my 15 y/o oven). These forums are one of the good things about the internet!

Thank you!!! What an awesome tip. Just took the panel off and just like so many others the one screw was very loose and the other had fallen off and was sitting there :) I screwed everything up nice and tight put the panel back and turned on the power and BAM…the light now turns off:)
