I left water in my refrigerator lines this past winter and the house temperature went below freezing for an extended time. The result was both solenoid controlled water valves split open. I replaced them both and reconnected the water lines. I got water to flow from the water fountain but at the same time water also leaked from the water tank assembly indicating that it also was damaged. The water feed line currently disconnected. I have a new water tank now, but am unsure as to how to replace the damaged one. HELP!

Besides the new water tank you'll need a couple of fittings (#20 on the diagram) Cut off the inner and the outer tubes to the water tank and remove it from the refrigerator. Install the new water tank and connect the tubes using the fittings (tube just plugs in). Gene.

Thanks Gene, Do you know which is the feed in and which is the feed out connections on the tank? Should I cut the tubes near the water tank itself or try to cut them off somewhere else after they go out thru the back? Where they go out there is some sort of caulking. Also should I disconnect this tank in the future and drain it to prevent damage from freezing water? Thanks, fandrc

I believe you can use the old part as a sample. With the new fittings you can easy disconnect the water tank and drain it out or just put it in a warm place.
Gene.
