I had this problem where frost would show up on the back of my freezer. The ice maker would quit making ice and the fridge side would get too warm. I have replaced the following parts at the advice of folks in this forum and was wondering if there is anything else that needs to be done.

Heater
PTCR relay
Run capacitor
Overload

The unit has been running for about 12 or 14 hours and to my knowledge it hasn't shut itself off yet. I can put the thermostat on zero and it will turn off but otherwise its just running and running. Do I need to replace this part? http://www.appliancepartspros.c...&diagram_id=22294226

Also, after I installed the heater, and plugged the unit back up, I noticed that ice forms on the coils almost immediately. After it gets about half way up the ice defrosts but I never see the heater heat up or anything. Is that normal?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

These three parts are not related to the defrost cycle, which was your problem.

You can test it with an ohm meter by connecting each lead to the two wires. It should show continuity when cold and not when warm.

Partial frosting is a sign of low freon.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wood Chuckie Thank you so much for your help on this. I left the fridge running all day today while I was at work and when I came home I noticed it is kicking itself on and off. I pulled the back panel off to see what was going on back there and it was frosted all the way to the top. Just one more stupid question... I bought the double heater for my fridge and I never see it get hot.. I am assuming that it should am I correct?

When the heater comes on you will be able to see it if you're looking. Give it a couple of days to see if it will go into defrost on it's on. You may be able to make it go into defrost with the motherboard. Look in your manual or see if there is instructions behind the kick panel on the front at the floor. You can tell it has defrosted if you see water in the drain pan under the fridge/freezer.

So far it appears that everything is working. I gave up waiting on the heater to kick on so I could see it so I put it all back together. The fridge is kicking itself on and off and everything is working (Keep your fingers crossed and thanks for all of your help)
