Hi,

I have a Slattery 24" gas range / oven.

The problem I'm having is with the knob that controls the front right burner.

It takes a lot of effort to turn the knob the full quarter turn needed for it to light up.

It's not that it binds or grates or makes noise or anything like that. It turns smoothly. Except that it takes a lot of effort to turn it!

Lately it hasn't been igniting because you really have to haul on it to get it to turn the full quarter turn. Meanwhile the gas is coming out.....

How would you go about lubricating this? I ask because most lubricants are highly flammable, so any lubricant should be safe to use on or near an oven.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Dan
