Trying to figure out what is wrong with my GE electric slide in range, model number JSP46SP2SS.

Came across instructions online that actually displayed something, but I can't make sense of the error code. I followed these steps to bring it up on the display:

"F codes can be recalled by pressing together: TIMER, CLOCK, and 9 (or MIN DOWN). While displayed, pressing 8 and 6 (or MIN UP and HR DOWN) together will clear them."

I pressed TIMER, CLOCK, and 9 together and the oven displayed "-757".

I'm trying to determine if this is an actual error code or something completely different.

The tech sheet included with my oven specified the following steps, which had no results: "Enter Diagnostics mode by pressing CANCEL > CANCEL > START within a 5-second period."

Thank you for any advice.

Hello and thank you for your question.

The procedure you described to recall a failure code is correct but there is no such failure code "757". The correct failure code should consist of letter "F" and one digit from 0 to 9.

What exactly is wrong with your range?

Gene.

Hello Gene. Thank you for joining the conversation. Sorry I didn't get back here sooner. I thought I would have gotten a notification via email, maybe it went into spam. I really appreciate any guidance you can give me.

The range frequently goes into SF mode over night and locks all the controls. We have to unplug for 10 seconds to reset. It also shuts down approx. 10-15 min in while on broil mode and will shut-off occasionally when in bake mode.

Thanks

I thought that maybe the 757 was a series of errors that occurred over time, consisting of individual error codes: 7 then 5 then 7. I took a picture of it. Looking at it on my phone right now. On the left hand side of the display, the "Temp" side, it just shows three dashes "---". On the right hand side is the "-757"

Hello and sorry for the delay.

Very likely the cause of the problem is shorted one or more keys on the touch panel.
The part number is Part number: AP4412090
Part number: AP4412090

The part is on back order. To find out the ETA you may want to call the AppliancePartsPros customer service 1-877-477-7278
