When my ice maker is dumping ice into the ice bin, a lot of water flows down the drain valve. the drainage stops when the machine has finished dumping the ice into the bin. Is this normal?? It would appear that it could amount to 10 or 15 gallons of lost water per day.

What would be considered normal?

Thanks
