We have a GE GTWS8655D0MC washer.
It makes a grinding noise during agitation -- the noise occurs primarily during the wash cycle when the pulsator REVERSES direction (the washer tub is not spinning).
The noise does not occur during the spin cycle, at any speed.
The noise occurs even when the machine is operated with the pulsator removed. The noise is less with light or no loads.
I have a video of the washer motor spinning, with the noise on audio. How can I upload it?

My Amana Mod#NTW4516FW3 is doing the exact same thing and has since shortly after my purchase. Less than two years old and the brake/clutch was replaced while under warranty. Didn't last long and started again. It has gradually gotten worse just like it did after I purchased it. I have been in contact with Amana/Whirlpool, and they won't help with warranty and can't give me an answer on what's wrong with it. I not sure what part the Authorized repair man replaced his first service trip, but it didn't fix it and I had to call him back. I'll let you know if I find out any answers.
