I have a Whirlpool LSQ8543JQ1. Clothes come out wet on 70% of loads, the water seems to stay on throughout the spin cycle. Seems to happen on smaller loads as well as larger loads. This has led to shutting off the shut off on the inlet valves to keep the water from soaking the clothes throughout the spin cycle.
I believe this has led to the clutch going bad, as now the tub spins slowly not allowing the clothes to drain. I understand i need to replace the clutch, but I would like to solve the spin cycle soaking issue first.

The unit is 20 years old.

Any help is appreciated!
