I have a RF22M9581SG/AA that's a couple years old. Didn't expect much from Samsung so I bought extended warranty through Lowes with it. It's been out since Sept 2021! They have sent a tech out here 4 times to try to repair it, each one having different reasons why it wasn't cooling. They've supposedly replaced the main boards, I say supposedly because each time the next tech came in they'd say "I don't even see where they did that" or "I don't think he actually did anything".
Now they're saying there is a leak in the coolant. My wife sent me a photo of him snooping a section of the coolant tubing and showing that it was bubbling. I wasn't there in person but I don't trust it, it's easy to make snoop bubble up, and he said he couldn't tell exactly where it was leaking so they were calling it unrepairable. To me, if he snooped it he obviously knows where it's leaking and it's easily repairable. I don't think it has anything to do with the coolant tubing, he 'recharged' it and said it would cool for a little while until the coolant leaks out and we could just keep recharging it to get it going for a bit, it never cooled from the time he recharged it...
They are now sending us a check to refund the purchase price etc, around $1.1k, but if I were to try to buy an equitable fridge today it'd be around 5k. So I'm trying to repair this myself if I can.
The only thing I can really say symptom wise is this: the red light on the inverter board is a solid red. The fan for the compressor runs, it sounds like the compressor is trying to run, when the problems first occurred the fridge portion stayed cool but the split freezer slowly went out, first one side, then the other, then the fridge. This occurred gradually over the course of a week or so.
The temperature display on the smart screen seems to be wrong, when I set it to be a specific temp the compressor sounds like it kicks on and then the temps display that they are at, or typically slightly below, what the set temperature is but in reality it is still 60F+ in all compartments.
