We have no repairmen to call as I live on a pretty remote island, 32 miles out. If this is to be fixed, I need to figure it out myself. Can you please help!

We have had storms and lights flickering. The refrigerator and freezer were dead one morning, i.e. 100% dead, no lights, fans...nothing. I replaced the capacitor and got the lights and fans back on but it is still not cooling. I left it on all night but no cooling at all. What should I do next? I live on a small island with no repairmen so I need to figure something out, if someone can help me I'd sure appreciate it.
It is a Whirlpool Model ET1FTEXMT03.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have lights & fans, no cooling.

I just took off the start relay and capacitor. The capacitor was a new OEM part but it appears to be dead, I am not getting any reading on it. (The relay is fine.)
Is it possible to burn out a new capacitor when trying to turn the frig back on after replacing it?
