My Maytag washer has been giving an F20 code randomly for over a year now. I have tried several things;
1) Replaced drain pump assy
2) checked water inlet filters
3) made sure no 'junk' was stuck under ring seal inhibiting draining

Not sure what else to try next and was hoping to get someone interested in helping me on a forum.

It does not do it on every load. I can not figure out the pattern.

I can wash a load, get the F20.
Press the power button and it spins and drains.
Start same load again and it will finish almost every time.

The random stopping is a waste of time and water and is very frustrating.

Hoping someone here can help... it would be much appreciated.

Update...

Ordered a inlet valve assy and went to replace it, but the original part has the tube coming out the back of the pump, the replacement has it on the side. Hose is not long enough, plus there is some kind of vent also in the way.

While I had it open, I looking into why the fabric softener compartment would never get emptied into the load recently. The arm that moved to position the water flow to the different fill compartments had some sort of 'build up' on it... thought that may be causing it to stick, so I cleaned it. while putting it back together, I took the dispenser tray out and decided to run a load to see how well the water was flowing as it was 'filling' at the start of a load.

What I saw was a VERY weak trickle of water coming out of small holes positioned above the detergent tray (I use pods so don't use this tray). There was also a good amount of water pouring down the back of the top of the dispenser... seemed like overflow as it would not pass into any compartment.

IS THIS NORMAL? I found a old Maytag repair training video online and it showed the water coming out like a fountain from the holes above the dispensers.
