My Whirlpool gas oven will light but not stay lit. It has a glow plug igniter that heats up enough to allow the gas valve to open. Once the burner lites there is a clicking noise that continues for several seconds until the gas burner goes out. What is causing this problem?

Hi John,

That's not right. According to the model number you posted, your oven has direct spark ignition system for the oven and the surface burners.

Most likely the cause of the problem is a bad flame sensing. I would recommend to replace the Bake burner which comes together with the igniter.
