Dryer makes squeaky sound when running. Heavier the load, louder the squeak. AS the load dries and gets lighter, squeak sound lessens
Has been squeaking for a while.
Just recently started making a horrible rumbling noise when running while empty.
I think it's around 6-8 years old. Is there any way to check that?
Also, on occasion, small articles ( rags, bras, waistband drawstrings ) get caught on the inside panel near the light and it makes a noise as if the drum is having trouble turning or is restricted somehow. That's the best way I can think of to describe it right now.
Thanks for your help.
Merry Christmas!

Had a similar problem with one...can't recall whether GE or Whirlpool, but the drum rolls on rubber wheels with bronze bushings. The bushings are oilite and kinda dried out. While I put in new "wheels", I wish I'd just lubed the bushings & shafts with something good, like a light silicon grease. It wasn't difficult, but it was probably 25 years ago, so I don't remember anything about how to do it.
