Recently, I have water dripping, then freezing, at the end of the icemaker nearest the door. Just a pile shaped like a volcano that grows in height on top of frozen fused icecubes in the tray. Ice production is normal. It takes about 4 days to accumulate the amount of fused ice as in the photo.

When I lift up the wire bail to turn off ice production, the leak stops. That indicated to me that it is not a defective water inlet valve which is not completely shutting off water. The refrigerator is level.

What is wrong? Should I replace the icemaker assembly or the water inlet valve? It is a 2009 Whirlpool lower freezer model ABL2227FES.
