I have a GE Refrigerator PFSF6PKXDWW french door style w/ freezer on the bottom which is approx 10 years old. I have been experiencing water in the fresh food area freezing into an ice shelf. Both the fridge and freezer are keeping perfectly temp. Reading online led me to discover a frozen drain hole. After melting the ice blockage a few times with hot water and ensuring the melted drain water has a clear path through to the drain pan, I proceeded to install a Samsung drain clip AP5579885 which was supposed to help radiate heat from the defrost heater therefore keeping the drain hole free from freezing. For 9-10 months the issue seemed to have been resolved until recently when the drain hole became plugged up again with ice and water that was again leaking out into the fresh food area. Forums suggested I start by changing the Temperature Sensor & Defrost Thermostat but again shortly after changing the parts I am experiencing the same issue. The old parts tested good when testing defrost thermostat for continuity and testing Temp Sensor for approx open/ close temps at 140/ 104F and the ice plug up seems to come back now within just a few days.

For points of information, the fridge and freezer are keeping perfect temp. There is no major build up of frost on the evaporator that I can see when I pull off the Evaporator cover. The ice plug in the drain seems to be quite deep, possibly 10-14 inches deep in the drain tube and takes me a few hours to melt with hot water. Once the drain tube is cleared of the ice plug, water freely drains to the pan. When probing the drain hose with a plastic siphon hose I am experiencing some resistance half way down the the drain tube itself, almost like there is a narrowing of the tube or a valve inside it however water does pass. I am not sure if this is normal but the REFRIGERATOR DRAIN LINE which is accessible at the bottom of the back of the refrigerator is not clogged or part of this problem. I'd hate to keep throwing parts at this problem if there is no definite diagnosis.

Any suggestions for what to test next and how or hearing from anyone who has resolved this issue would be hugely appreciated.
