Hello,
The evaporator fan in my freezer is not running as I type this and hasn't been for at least a day. I noticed the problem a few days ago and took the back panel of the freezer off to inspect. There was a little bit of ice in the coils but just a small amount on some to be precise. I spun the fan manually and it spun around twice before coming to a stop. After putting it back together and plugging it in nothing changed immediately. The next day the fan was running but the problem was it wouldn't stop and the freezer was freezing over. I did notice that the evaporator fan would start for 2 seconds stop then run for a few minutes then repeat the process. I unplugged the refrigerator for a few hours and then plugged it back in. The evaporator fan has not come back on since to my knowlegdge. The freezer is making ice slowly and the meat etc hasn't defrosted. The refigerator is not cooling properly and I am aware that the evaporator fan is the reason for that. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
Model #LGHT2046QF2 When I type the model number in there is very little that comes up on the internet. It was purchased at Lowes's a few years ago and I have no idea why I get very little info about the model. It believe it is called a Frigidaire Gallery Custom-Flex Stainless Top Freezer.

Just took the back panel off of the freezer. There was some frost built up on the top coils but I had the freezer set to the highest temp and the fan isn't running. I lowered the temp control to middle position and the coils started to defrost. I disconnected and reconnected the fan harness a few times and the fan attempted to spin for a half second each time. The evaporator fan blades only spin freely when I unhook the wire harness. With the harness plugged in I tried to manually spin the blades and they only bounce back to its original position. Is that a typical response? Edited by user Tuesday, March 2, 2021 8:01:22 AM(UTC)

I couldn't find your exact model number. Does this look like your fan motor? https://appliancemasters.../242077701_11-scaled.jpgIt says 120 volt, so you need to find out if its getting 120 volts to it and just not running. I suspect the motor is bad internally. These ac to dc motors are not very durable, an old style ac motor would still be running.

Thanks for the reply. I was told by Frigidaire that I needed the 242077705 fan motor. Very close to the one you have in the link. I was also told elsewhere to test the motor in place and check to see if it is getting 120 constantly or the board is sending 120 and then cutting the power to the motor. Since the harness housing would block the test leads how or where would I test the motor to figure that out?

Maybe you could take the fan blade off, let the motor hang down and shove your test probes in the back of the connector. Green is ground, the others are power, ac 120 volts. It should be a stable 120 plus or minus a few volts.

I tested the wire harness coming from the back of the freezer after disconnecting the motor side of the harness. I am getting 120v constant. I then tested the leads in the motor side of the harness for ohms and I am getting anywhere from 22 ohms to 35 ohms. Then went the not recommended route and cut the plug end off a cord, stripped the wires back and pushed them into the motor wire harness to see what I got if I applied direct power. The fan motor attempted to start but only moved out of original position for a split second each time I applied power and nothing else. I have to believe at this point that the motor is the issue. Please, by all means, let me know if anything was incorrect. I am certainly open to any suggestions. Your help is truly appreciated.

I got the part a few days ago and swapped the old motor out. Gave it a couple days but it looks like we are good to go here. Thanks ThatGuy. Your info was very useful.
