I have an old GE refrigerator suddenly stopped working. I cleaned up everything inside and watch for two weeks. Here is the symptom. Wonder if anyone know what might be wrong. Thanks in advance.
It works normally for a day. Then the compressor stops. I can still feel the air inside. The temperature gradually goes to 50 for both top refrigerator and bottom freezer. I can see some water inside at the very bottom of the freezer. It stays like that for about two days. Then the whole cycle starts over again.

Misery loves company and I am here for the same.

My GE side by side by side is facing similar issue. When I turn on the ice maker, it thaws the freezer section and acts just like you mentioned.

Try turning off the ice maker and see if it stays on( working fine). At least you will have a working refrigerator with no ice maker.
